HNB obtains $2.4M judgment and permanent injunction against violator of copyright infringement and unauthorized Set-Top Box sales. (Tarboosh TV)

On January 13, 2020, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia granted HNB’s motion for final judgment and permanent injunction against Mohammad Attya, individually and d/b/a Tarboosh TV. HNB sued the reseller and distributor of Tarboosh TV set-top boxes which were designed to receive and transmit copyrighted content without permission and in violation of the Copyright Act. The court order included the permanent injunction of any further set-top box sales, reproduction, transition, streaming or distribution of television subscription services that include protected channels or any of the programmings that comprises or appear on the protected channels belonging to DISH Network.
