Supreme Court Denies Cert, Upholds HNB Win Before Fifth Circuit Upholding $101 Million Judgment

The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed a $101 million judgment obtained by HNB on behalf of Nagravision SA. Nagravision SA v. Gotech Int’l Tech. Ltd., Case No. 16-20817 (5th Cir., Feb. 7, 2018) Nagravision had filed suit against Gotech International Technology Ltd. and Zhuhai Gotech Intelligent Technology Co. Ltd., both Chinese companies, alleging violations of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and the Federal Communications Act. HNB represented Nagravision both in the district court and on appeal and oral argument before the Fifth Circuit.  The United State Supreme Court denied Gotech’s petition for writ of certiorari on November 13, 2018.
